## Summary

The procurement process titled "Detection of organics in pipes and vessels" is being conducted by the National Nuclear Laboratory Limited, focusing on the nuclear fuels industry. The initiative is currently in the planning stage, with an engagement end date set for 22nd December 2020. The project aims to find innovative solutions for detecting organics in pipes and vessels, and an online workshop is scheduled for 9th December 2020 to provide further details. Interested applicants must submit their entries through the Game Changers website by the deadline of 7th January 2021.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in technological solutions for the nuclear sector, particularly those skilled in electronic detection and research and development services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with experience in detecting and characterising organics are encouraged to take part, as the challenge seeks fresh ideas and improvements in existing processes. Given the collaborative nature of this challenge, businesses that can demonstrate innovative approaches or existing capabilities in this field may find substantial avenues for growth and future contracts as the project progresses.

## Notice

This PIN is to inform the supply chain that Sellafield Ltd and Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL) are seeking novel solutions or improvements to existing processes to detect the presence of organics in pipes and vessels after cleaning and prior to final decommissioning. Both organisations have similar pipe and vessel infrastructure and are collaborating via Game Changers. This challenge will be administered though the Game Changers programme and advertised on their website during November and December 2020. A challenge statement published on the website will provide a detailed overview of the challenge and Sellafield Ltd and DSRL's technical requirements along with any constraints and restrictions. An online workshop will be held on the 9th December 2020 where Sellafield Ltd and DSRL will further describe the challenge. Details of the workshop will be shared on the Game Changers website. Interested technology providers should complete and submit a Game Changers application via the Game Changers website www.gamechangers.technology. The challenge is open to any organisation who feel they can meet the technical requirements. The closing date for applications will be 7th January 2021. Interested organisations should note that the issue of this PIN may not result in a full procurement exercise being conducted. The outcome of the Game Changers challenge will determine whether a full procurement exercise will follow. We would therefore encourage any organisation which has the capability, knowledge and experience in the detection and characterisation of organics to respond to this PIN and visit the Game Changers website for further information on the Game Changers challenge. If Sellafield Ltd or DSRL progresses to a future procurement opportunity for the detection of organics in pipes and vessels, the learning gathered from the Game Changers technology study may be shared with all potential suppliers, noting that commercially sensitive information will not be included. Additional information: Please visit the Game Changers website at www.gamechangers.technology for further information.
