## Summary

The Parliamentary Works Sponsor Body is currently awarding a contract titled "Restoration & Renewal Corporate Communications Graphic Design and Artworking," which falls under the graphic design services category. Located in London, this procurement process has reached the award stage, following a tender period that ended on 24 June 2021. The contract is valued at £15,000 and is part of a broader programme aimed at preserving the Palace of Westminster, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The contract period commences on 5 July 2021 and concludes on 4 July 2022. The procurement method used was an open procedure, allowing a variety of businesses to submit offers.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for design studios, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that specialise in graphic design and brand development for high-profile organisations. Businesses capable of producing high-quality digital and printed corporate communications tailored to specific brand guidelines will be well-suited to compete. The focus on creating engaging collateral for a significant national heritage project, such as the Restoration and Renewal Programme, allows competitors to showcase their expertise while potentially expanding their clientele through this high-visibility contract.

## Notice

The Restoration and Renewal (R&R) Programme has a requirement for an external graphic design studio to provide services to our in-house comms team and produce high-quality, detailed and engaging corporate communication collateral, working within our newly established brand guidelines for the R&R Programme. The Palace of Westminster, home of Parliament, is one of the most loved and recognised buildings in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. But sadly, it is falling apart faster than it can be fixed and is in need of fundamental repair. The 150-year-old building is at risk of a major fire, flood or falling stones. A report by the National Audit Office said that maintenance projects and ongoing works have doubled in just three years, to more than PS125m a year. We are well underway with the Programme established by Parliament to save the home of our democracy and a cornerstone of our country's history for future generations. Parliamentary authorities have made great progress in recent years to make sure the building is safe and accessible for people to visit and work in. But many of these improvements were made in anticipation of a much larger restoration so in many cases were not designed to be long lasting solutions. The expert and engineer-led Restoration and Renewal Programme is working with Parliament to tackle all the significant work that needs to be done to protect the Houses of Parliament. We will build on the work Parliament has carried out in recent years to keep the building running. The studio/agency applying for this contract will need to demonstrate a design portfolio of similar graphic design work and brand development for a high-profile organisation. We are looking to work with an agency for the artworking and design of high-quality editorial layouts using R&R guidelines to produce a range of collateral on a project-by-project basis including but not be limited to: digital corporate communications such as strategy documents, brochures, infographics, maps and social media content. There will also be a need to produce printed publications and large format graphics for events where necessary.
