## Summary

The CTM Portal for the NDA Shared Services Alliance is currently engaged in a procurement process for a tender titled "Site Evaluation Support", aimed at developing a geological disposal facility for higher activity radioactive waste. This initiative falls under the "services" category within the engineering industry and is focused in the UK, with specific delivery addresses extending to British Overseas Territories and Europe. The tender, valued at £36.5 million and requiring a minimum total of £14.9 million, is in the planning stage, with bids due by 12:00 on 11 January 2021. The procurement method employed is a selective (restricted) procedure, with the contract period anticipated to span from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2026.

This procurement opportunity represents significant potential for businesses specialising in engineering consultancy, site investigation, and environmental services. Companies that offer transport systems consultancy, geological consultancy, or project management services would be particularly well-suited to respond to this tender. Engaging in this project could lead to fruitful partnerships with a government-backed initiative of paramount importance to environmental safety and management within the UK, thus contributing to broader business growth and expertise in the nuclear sector.

## Notice

Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK Government's Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and responsible for implementing geological disposal of higher activity radioactive wastes. Geological disposal involves placing radioactive waste deep underground in a suitable geological environment for the time required for the radioactivity associated with them to naturally reduce (further information is available on RWM's website). RWM will act as a developer of a geological disposal facility (GDF) for such waste and is responsible for ensuring that the siting, construction, operation and eventual closure of a GDF complies with, amongst other requirements, the UK's high standards of safety, security and environmental protection. Developing and constructing a GDF is one of the most important environmental projects of our generation and RWM is committed to engaging and working in partnership with communities and relevant local authorities in England and Wales for the purposes of identifying a suitable location for the development and operation of a GDF. This Contract Notice relates to establishing a number of frameworks for the provision of consultancy services to support RWM in the evaluation of potential sites - further details and RWM's Siting and Engagement Strategy is available on RWM's website via the link in Section I.1. The services required are divided into 9 Lots.
