## Summary

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is conducting a procurement process titled "Enterprise Workforce Scheduling" focused on IT services for consulting and software development. This project is located in the UK and is currently in the Award stage, with a contract awarded to Deloitte LLP for a value of £498,575. The contract commenced on 17 September 2018 and is set to conclude on 17 December 2018. The procurement method employed is selective, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement, with the tender period having ended on 17 August 2018.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in IT services, particularly those specialising in workforce management solutions. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can provide innovative and efficient scheduling solutions are ideally positioned to compete. As the DVSA aims to enhance its operational capabilities in managing resources for driving and vehicle testing, businesses that can deliver digital solutions aligned with these needs may find substantial growth prospects in collaborating with government agencies like the DVSA.

## Notice

DVSA is responsible for road safety across the UK. The agency carries out driving tests, approves people to be driving instructors and MOT testers, carries out tests to make sure lorries and buses are safe to drive, carries out enforcement roadside checks on drivers and vehicles, and monitors vehicle recalls. The DVSA has a need to schedule staff to support Driver testing, Vehicle testing and Enforcement activities. Each of these business areas has developed their own processes and, in some cases, IT applications to manage the scheduling of their resources. The Enterprise Workforce Schedule Project (EWS) will deliver an efficient method of scheduling DVSA employees within Vehicle Testing, Enforcement and Driver Testing. The vision for scheduling is to provide a digitally enabled single scheduling service, which efficiently manages our people, ensuring that we provide the right person at the right place, and at the right time. The DVSA will run separate work streams for Vehicle Testing, Enforcement and Driver Testing. Each work stream will have its own Alpha, Beta and Live Phases, the exception will be the Vehicle Testing stream. The Alpha phase for Vehicle Testing will consist of two parts, the majority of Vehicle Testing Alpha will be delivered in Alpha (a) which is ahead of product procurement. Vehicle Testing Alpha (b) will completed when the scheduling product has been selected. The DVSA is appointing a Supplier for the Alpha phase for Vehicle Testing only.
