## Summary

The University of Southampton is seeking bids for the procurement of two rapid automated multiplex PCR systems, aimed at enhancing infectious disease diagnostics in a newly established laboratory dedicated to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) research. This procurement falls under the goods category, with a total estimated value of £110,000, and is being conducted via an open procedure. The tender period closes on 21st February 2020, and successful bidders will commence contract performance from 23rd March 2020 through to 22nd March 2025, with the delivery location specified as South East, United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical equipment, particularly those focused on diagnostic technologies. By engaging in this tender, businesses can not only expand their market presence but also contribute to critical health research and better patient care outcomes.

## Notice

We require a rapid automated multiplex PCR machine for comprehensive syndromic testing of infectious diseases. This is to be used in a new laboratory which will be built for bespoke Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research. The new laboratory will be based in the heart of the University Hospital Southampton close to emergency care to allow rapid sample testing and diagnosis from emergency patient admissions with suspected infectious disease. The system is required to enable the production of precise, accurate results taking around 1 hour with little to no hands-on requirements. We will require a system that is capable of the simultaneous analysis of viruses, bacteria, resistance mechanisms, and fungi.
