Cefas will host workshops in partner countries Sri Lanka, India and Africa, to formally introduce the concept of One Health Aquaculture to Responsible Authorities and other stakeholders with responsibility for policies associated with environmental-, human health- and animal health-elements of national aquatic food production. Delegates at the workshop will have the opportunity to discuss the current partnership, including an opportunity to interact directly with the UK-based leads of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Collaborating Centre for Emerging Aquatic Animal Diseases, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Reference Centre for Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) and the FAO Reference Centre for Bivalve Mollusc Sanitation. Interaction is intended to support aquatic food production and trade aspirations of overseas Governments and where suitable, to build a lasting framework for future engagement.
