## Summary

Birmingham City Council has completed the procurement process for the tender titled "QU340 - Older people without access to digital technology support for Covid-19 Campaign." This project falls under the provision of community services, specifically aimed at addressing the needs of older adults who lack access to digital technology during the Covid-19 pandemic. The award, valued at £8,000, was confirmed on 12th October 2020, and the contract period is set to run from 4th October 2020 until 30th April 2021. All submissions for this tender were required to be submitted by noon on 15th September 2020 through the Council's e-tendering system, In-Tend.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses focused on delivering community and health services, particularly those experienced in outreach and support for vulnerable populations. Businesses specialising in health communication, support services for the elderly, and organisations skilled in working with diverse communities would be well-positioned to compete. Successful engagement in this procurement can enable suppliers to expand their reach and enhance their service offerings in the West Midlands, directly contributing to the welfare of older adults during these challenging times.

## Notice

Birmingham is a hugely diverse city. Birmingham City Council recognises that different communities and particularly black and minority ethnic (BAME) communities may have specific concerns or issues resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic coupled with a limited access to the relevant official information and guidance available in community languages. We are keen to support all our local citizens to protect their health using national Government guidance (see https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus ) and maintain their wellbeing during this challenging period. Older adults who use digital technology are able to access support and advice on how to look after themselves and their loved ones. Many vulnerable older adults don't use a smart phone or have access to the internet. This impacts on their ability to receive relevant COVID-19 and Test and Trace information. We are seeking bids for services to ensure Birmingham's older adults who don't access digital technology have access to: o awareness and understanding of COVID-19, o information how to access to testing o knowledge of how to respond if they test positive or told they are a contact of a case, o knowledge of how to reduce risk factors associated with increased risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19. The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. If you wish to express an interest in this opportunity please click on the following link to access https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc/ and submit your details to register. You will then be sent details on how to log on which will enable you to download all relevant quotation documentation. If you are unable to register with In-tend or have any questions or problems on how to use this web site please either email us at: cps@birmingham.gov.uk or call CPS Helpdesk on 0121 464 8000. Your completed quotation submission should be returned by noon on 15th September 2020 via the 'in-tend' system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc
