Following the hurricane damage in 2017, temporary repairs have been carried out to the building to make it wind and watertight, however, whilst the repairs were being undertaken structural defects were identified relating to defects in the existing build, primarily poor foundations and utilisation of substandard materials. To ensure the building is more resistant to future hurricane events a new roof structure and covering is required tied into structural upgrades proposed for the building.
