## Summary

The procurement process involved the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) seeking a Payment Service Provider to manage online and offline card transactions across the Museum, addressing approximately 600,000 transactions valued at £20 million annually. This tender, titled "GB-London: Payment Service Provider", was initiated on 9 November 2017, with a tender period that concluded on 9 February 2018. While the procurement method used was an open procedure, the process has been cancelled, and no contract was awarded. The contract period was proposed to start on 1 June 2018 and end on 31 May 2025, with services classified under Financial transaction processing and clearing-house services.

Despite the cancellation of this opportunity, the procurement could have provided significant avenues for business growth, particularly for large-scale providers or voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in payment services. Companies that excel in managing multi-channel sales and processing high volumes of transactions would have been particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, given the V&A's need for a robust payment infrastructure to support its diverse revenue streams, including retail, ticket sales, and donations.

## Notice

THIS IS NOT A LIVE OPPORTUNITY, this contract was originally advertised on 09 November 2017 and tenders have now been received and evaluated. This is a follow-up notice to declare that the tender process has been cancelled and the contract has not been awarded. The Victoria and Albert Museum ("V&A") sought to appoint a payment service provider to provide a managed payment service across the Museum to process online and offline card transactions including retail, ticket sales, membership sales, donations, and other transactions. As an exempt charity, the V&A charity generates income both directly and through a wholly-owned subsidiary. Both entities have a multi-channel sales platform, with sales made onsite, online and by phone. Annually, approximately 600k transactions to the value of PS20m are processed each year.
