## Summary

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is initiating a public procurement process for the Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA) programme. This tender, classified under auditing services in the services industry, has a contract value of £2,753,400 and is set to run from 1st January 2018 until 31st December 2022. The procurement method is an open procedure, with the tender period having concluded on 27th October 2017. A pre-market engagement was conducted on 26th June 2017 to explore delivery options for the programme.

This contract offers substantial opportunities for businesses focused on energy efficiency and auditing services seeking to expand their market presence. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the tender conditions are suited for their capabilities. Companies with expertise in energy management, auditing, and sustainability initiatives will be well-positioned to compete for this contract, aligning with the government’s goals of enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions in the UK.

## Notice

The current contract for the CHPQA programme is due to come to an end in December 2017. The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is therefore looking to retender the contract, with a start date of January 2018. The CHPQA Scheme is an annual assessment process that ensures that all CHP plants that benefit from government support through a variety of renewable energy and energy taxation policies meet a minimum level of energy efficiency. It exists to encourage investment in more energy efficient CHP, saving on energy costs and reducing CO2 emissions. A pre-market engagement day was held on 26th June, having previously published a Prior Information Notice, for exploring new ways of delivering the CHPQA programme. The Presentation and Questions and Answers from this event are included within the Invitation To Tender documentation.
