The Academy's philosophy is simple - great leadership development improves leadership behaviours and skills. Better leadership leads to better patient care, experience and outcomes. Its purpose is to work with partners to deliver excellent leadership across the NHS to have a direct impact on patient care. The Academy will continue to build a leadership community with a common purpose and shared values. Its whole approach is designed to create inclusive and distributive leadership at all levels, throughout all professions and across all sectors. There is unequivocal evidence in every sector that there is a strong relationship between leadership capability and organisational performance. This is as true in health care as it is in any other business. Key programme features: * Nye Bevan: o A 12 month programme for aspiring executive directors or equivalent leading to an Academy award in Executive Healthcare Leadership o The programme consists of residential activity, online content and application of learning in the workplace. o Participants engage in a range of self-directed, experiential learning activities, which will focus on self-awareness and personal development. o The programme is based on the principles of self-managed learning.
