## Summary

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has awarded a contract for the project "An exploration of reuse, hoarding, and disposal of small waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and batteries in the UK" to Ipsos. The project falls under the industry category of research and development consultancy services. The procurement stage was selective, following a call-off from a framework agreement. The contract period is from February 6, 2023, to June 26, 2023, with a total value of £49,980. The tender period ended on January 23, 2023.

This procurement opportunity, led by Defra, aims to better understand consumer behaviours regarding the reuse and disposal of electronic equipment and batteries in the UK. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) well-versed in research consultancy services would find this tender particularly suited for engaging in the project. Businesses focused on sustainability and waste management can leverage this opportunity for growth by contributing insights and solutions to enhance public awareness and responsibility towards proper electronic waste management.
