Maintenance is important in that the investment being made is considered to be one that will last many decades, with a moderate maintenance budget where possible. As the older children currently use the other play equipment, wheeled sports facility and multi-use games area, the main playground is focused on younger families with children up to around 8 years of age, however, should cater for those up to 12.
