## Summary

The procurement process is being led by the Defra Network eTendering Portal, focusing on the project titled "Monitoring Asset Performance for Maintenance Optimisation Expression of Interest." This initiative falls under the industry category of research and development consultancy services and is set to take place in Bristol, England. Currently in the planning stage, the process aims to optimise flood defence asset maintenance and operations using predictive analytical techniques. Interested suppliers should note that Expressions of Interest are being collected until 5th August 2019, and the contract period is expected to run from 1st January 2020 until 29th December 2023.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in consultancy and data analytics within the environmental sector, particularly those with expertise in flood defence systems and predictive maintenance. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will find this procurement appealing, as it is designed to include them. By participating, businesses can showcase their innovative solutions and potentially establish long-term partnerships with a key governmental agency while contributing to vital environmental protection efforts.

## Notice

The Environment Agency have started a project to look at how predictive analytical techniques can be used to optimise flood defence asset maintenance and operations. We want to explore how data can be gathered from sensors deployed on pumping station components and how this data can be then used to detect anomalies and trends as components degrade. With the ultimate aim of completing a full prototype test, of an end-to-end sensing and decision-support system. This prototype will be deployed on an Environment Agency owned pumping station.
