The Department wishes to expand this type of support, with the primary objective of improving the leadership of LA children's services (including Special Educational Needs and Disability), by ensuring that local political and corporate leaders can fulfil their statutory role effectively and provide appropriate scrutiny and challenge, to drive forward the improvement of services for the most vulnerable children and their families.
