## Summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is overseeing the award of a contract for the "Legacy Application Modernisation" project, focusing on information technology services. This contract, valued at £98,532, is part of a selective procurement process and was awarded on 1st February 2020, with the contract period spanning from 1st February 2020 to 31st July 2020. The project, which aimed to update a legacy HR payroll and finance system, was executed in Blackpool, England, and included critical analysis and transformation of historical data.

This tender provides a significant opportunity for IT service providers, particularly those specialising in data transformation and report development. Businesses that possess expertise in SQL databases, data validation techniques, and user training would find this contract particularly relevant. As the DWP seeks ongoing improvements to its digital systems, firms with innovative solutions in software development and system integrations stand to benefit from similar upcoming projects.

## Notice

C-Store is an HR legacy payroll and finance system used within DWP for several years, last operational in 2007. The system is now used in a read only capacity to determine pensionable data for current and past civil servants. In 2018, the original C-Store hardware failed and faced a full data loss. After forensic data recovery the data was extracted and a tactical, interim solution, was developed. In parallel the FAMIS project was underway where a front end reporting solution was developed, providing an opportunity to add the C-Store data into the same reporting system improving end User experience and ensuring GDPR compliance. Required outcomes from the project: - Analysis of the extracted data files in order to create an appropriate data model. Inclusive analysis of queries available in the original system in order to develop similar report layouts and workflows. - Development of transformation routines resulting in conversion and validation of the data into SQL. Validation must be done via an appropriate technique such as SQL BCP. - Designing and coding of new reports using an iterative process resulting in continuous testing and improving. - Training end users and offering support for UAT phases. - Appropriate post go live support
