There are three pilot sites testing different models of implementation for the ICSS model as proposed by NHS England. Each pilot has a different focus specifically designed to implement the required changes within the context of their local stroke pathway. Each pilot has been chosen to explore the challenges and benefits of their approach in order to facilitate wider adoption of the service model. These pilots are core to stroke programme activity and priorities in the long term plan. The models are expected to demonstrate significant savings allowing reinvestment in patient care.
