## Summary

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust has completed the procurement for a Managed Term Building Contract (MTC) aimed at providing measured term building works at University Hospital Lewisham, Community Sites, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The procurement, classified under the industry category of Building Construction Work (CPV code 45210000), included a tender for anticipated works over the term of the contract, concluding on 3rd November 2023, with the contract period commencing on 3rd June 2024 and concluding on 3rd June 2030. The procurement method utilised a selective call-off from a framework agreement, designating R&B Decorators & Refurbishment as the principal contractor, tasked with overseeing the comprehensive building works. This £1,530,277.24 contract highlights the importance of compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses engaged in building construction works, particularly those familiar with hospital and healthcare facility constraints. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would find this contract advantageous as it stipulates the need for a consistent on-site presence and a user/operational estates coordinator, ensuring efficient access coordination for building works. Firms specialising in building refurbishment, capable of accommodating the specifics of pre-existing structures and on-the-ground operations, stand to benefit the most, potentially securing long-term contractual relationships and growth in the public healthcare construction sector.
