## Summary

Cambridgeshire County Council has successfully awarded a contract for the provision of new library self-service machines, mark £219,842.35 for this purpose, to Bibliotheca Ltd. The procurement process falls under the CPV industry category of Library automation equipment and Library, archives, museums and other cultural services, targeting procurement needs in England, United Kingdom. The contract began on 21 April 2026 and is set to run until 20 April 2031. Initially, the tender process utilised a further competition method under the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) framework, employing a selective, restricted procedure. The contract involves both the procurement and maintenance of thirty-five new machines, with the possibility of future expansion depending on funding availability.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses, notably those specialising in library automation and cultural services, including SMEs and VCSEs. Companies well-versed in delivering flexible lifecycle solutions for self-service machinery stand to benefit, especially in providing ongoing maintenance and adaptation to new technological requirements. As the contract allows for additional expansions without exceeding the stated maximum value, businesses can anticipate steady and potentially increased demand. This could drive innovation in service delivery and foster long-term relationships with public sector clients.
