Recognising the vital role that libraries play in communities across the county, it provides high quality library services that enables Hertfordshire citizens to enrich their lives. The Council's 'Inspiring Libraries' strategy articulates its plans for ensuring that it can continue to deliver a high quality library service that is sustainable into the future and remains relevant to the diverse and changing needs of Hertfordshire residents and communities. The Council has invested over ?4 million in library buildings and technology over the last four years, whilst making significant reductions to the library service's revenue budget. Hertfordshire Libraries have a strong record of service delivery and wishes this to continue. The Council is therefore seeking an independent Service Provider to deliver its library services on its behalf in order to maintain and improve the current high level of provision to Hertfordshire residents.
