## Summary

The procurement process involves the NHS Collaborative Commissioning Forum for Castle Point & Rochford, Southend, and Mid Essex, which has awarded the "CYP Specialist Emotional Health & Wellbeing Service" contract. This service, valued at £161,649, aims to provide emotional resilience and counselling for children and young people in the East of England, specifically to improve mental health outcomes in light of increasing needs due to COVID-19. The contract period commenced on 1st November 2021 and will run until 31st July 2022. This direct procurement was executed as a single tender action, and three voluntary organisations have been awarded the contract following a decision made on 10th August 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses that specialise in mental health services, particularly those that are small or voluntary community sector enterprises, allowing them to expand their reach and service offering within the public sector. Existing suppliers include South East and Central Essex Mind, Open Door, and Kids Inspire, indicating a competitive environment where innovative approaches to emotional health and wellbeing for young people are in demand. Businesses aiming to engage in similar contracts should be prepared to deliver person-centred and evidence-based counselling services to enhance support for vulnerable communities.
