The project involves replacing outdated electrical systems with modern LED technology, as well as extensive refurbishment of the lighthouse tower and adjacent buildings. Engaging with this opportunity could lead to the successful contractor enhancing their portfolio through high-visibility public works, thereby fostering business growth and reputation within the industry. ## Notice It is the Boards intension to award this contract to a single Contractor and it is envisaged that the successful Tenderer will co-ordinate the running of project works at Eilean Glas Lighthouse.The proposed works principally involve the de-commissioning and removal of the obsolete sealed beam optic lamp array and electrical operating / monitoring system for replacement with an equivalent updated operating system with LED optic technology. The Lighthouse Tower, Adjoining Building which houses the Battery Room / Control Room and Welfare / Mess Building are also to be completely refurbished along with the application of protective and decorative coatings to all external and internal elevations of the structures.Materials will be taken to site for renovation / upgrade works by ship and helicopter, and removed upon completion of the works, contractors must ensure materials are packaged correctly for Helicopter operations when supplied to Oban Depot and at the site removal stage.
