## Summary

The Geospatial Commission is orchestrating the "Housing & Planning FAIR data project Discovery & Alpha roadmap," aimed at enhancing the accessibility of housing and planning data in England. This procurement process, which is currently in the Award stage, has a total contract value of £79,926 and was initiated through a selective procurement method as a call-off from the Digital Outcomes Specialist 4 framework. The contract period commenced on 21st September 2020 and is set to conclude on 7th January 2021. The tender process was completed by the tender deadline of 7th August 2020, making it a critical opportunity for suppliers engaged in IT services, specifically consulting and software development.

This contract represents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on IT solutions, especially those with expertise in geospatial data management and digital platform development. Businesses that can provide innovative strategies for making housing and planning data more accessible will find a good fit in this project. Companies with a background in user research, software development, and digital consulting are particularly encouraged to explore similar public procurement prospects to leverage growth in the increasingly important sector of geospatial data services.

## Notice

The Geospatial Commission aims to improve the findability and accessibility of housing and planning data through the development of a trusted portal. The discovery and alpha roadmap will provide user research, review existing services/portals to inform the digital solution and outline possible strategies/plans for solution implementation. The Geospatial Commission needs to appoint a supplier to deliver the discovery phase and outline a roadmap for the alpha phase of the Housing and Planning FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data project. The objective of the H&P FAIR data project is to address inefficiency around the use of geospatial data in housing and planning by improving its findability and access through the development of a trusted portal. Discovery will explore user needs and feasibility of creating a digital solution whereby users can access various housing and planning data from one trusted portal. Opportunity advertised via the Digital MarketPlace under the Digital Outcomes Specialist 4 framework
