The evaluation will capture the impact over a three-year period on trainees taking Out of Programme Pause on both the trainee's wellbeing, exploring retention, impact on service provision, impact on those in a supervisory role (both from a capacity and capability perspective) and the impact of counting capabilities in the non-training placement and impact on trainees anticipated CCT date. A cross-cohort and cross-speciality approach should also form part of the evaluation. The outcomes of the evaluation will inform improvements to the initiative in the future.
