## Summary

The Luton and Dunstable University Hospital is conducting a public procurement process for the "Luton & Dunstable University Hospital CCTV & Access Control 2021" project, which falls under the security equipment industry category. This tender is part of a redevelopment programme at the hospital, and the tender period will conclude on 10 August 2021. The contract, valued at £1,000,000 and with a minimum value of £500,000, is scheduled to commence on 6 September 2021 and will last for one year, ending on 5 September 2022. The procurement method used is an open procedure, allowing broad participation.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in security systems and related services to expand their business. Companies engaged in security equipment manufacturing, surveillance systems installation, and related engineering works would be particularly well positioned to compete. Given the project's focus on creating a comprehensive security system across multiple sites, interested bidders should have experience in both design and implementation of advanced security solutions to meet the hospital's specifications effectively.

## Notice

The Contractor shall read this specification in conjunction with Volumes (2 and 3), materials and workmanship and technical preliminaries respectively, plus the design intent drawings listed within Section A11 of Volume 3.Non-intrusive surveys of the existing access control and CCTV security systems at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital were carried out in February 2021, with drawings and schedules provided to assist the Contractors understanding of quantities and locations of installed equipment within the retained estate. These surveys did not cover the review of any survey's within ceiling voids, equipment condition or functionality. The Contractor shall be responsible for carrying out all necessary intrusive surveys and developing the design for both the access control and CCTV systems. Due allowance for undertaking these shall be included within the tender return. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
