## Summary

The National Nuclear Laboratory has initiated a procurement process titled "W99 Pannel Build" under the Goods category, specifically targeting parts of air or vacuum pumps and related components. This tender involves the manufacturing and delivery of pipework panels for an SMF Nitrogen Purge System, essential for the safe transfer of materials to the AHF facility. The project is located in the North West region of the United Kingdom, with the procurement stage currently in the Tender phase. Key dates include the tender period ending on 15th November 2024, and the contract period spanning from 16th November 2024 to 17th November 2024. The open procedure procurement method signifies a competitive and transparent process suitable for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in manufacturing components for gas systems and compressors. Firms that produce parts like gas filters, control valves, and electrical equipment would find this tender well-suited to their capabilities. Participating in this procurement can enhance a company's portfolio and provide entry into high-value markets within the nuclear industry. As the specification has already been designed, businesses focusing on manufacturing rather than additional design work will be particularly well-positioned to compete.

## Notice

The SMF is used to transfer material to the AHF facility. It must be purged with nitrogen (N2) prior to export from the AHF to protect the SMF internals. The nitrogen purge system has been designed for this purpose. It comprises several panels with valves and instruments, connected by pipework. The gas supply is provided from standard transportable gas bottles. Specification Outline This specification defines the manufacturing and delivery requirements for the principal pipework panels for performing the N2 purge of the SMF. This document has been produced with reference to the client design requirement specification and the functional specification. A completed design ready for manufacture has been developed in accordance with this specification. Following the detail design it is considered unnecessary for any further design except that necessary by the fabricator for manufacture. This specification defines the manufacturing, works testing and delivery requirements for the SMF Nitrogen Purge System Test Aid. A completed design ready for manufacture has been developed in accordance with this specification. Following the detail design, it is considered unnecessary for any further design except that necessary by the contractor for manufacture (e.g. profile drawings for stainless steel plates).
