## Summary

The Department of Health is advancing its initiative titled "GP System of Choice (2) (GPSoC)", aimed at enhancing the delivery of GP Clinical IT systems across England. This contract opportunity falls under the services category, specifically related to medical information systems. The procurement was conducted using an open procedure above threshold and is currently in the award stage, with a total contract value of £34,800,000. The framework allows GP practices more flexibility in selecting clinical IT systems, including additional modules for enhanced functionality. The contract period commenced on 28 April 2014 and was completed on 27 March 2018, with relevant documents published for transparency on 14 February 2018.

This procurement presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses in the healthcare IT sector, especially those offering clinical software solutions and technological enhancements for GP practices. Companies capable of providing innovative IT systems or additional functionalities that integrate seamlessly with existing frameworks would be particularly well-suited to participate. The emphasis on suitability for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) indicates an accessible entry point for smaller tech firms looking to compete alongside larger entities in the NHS landscape.

## Notice

GPSoC - allows the provision and delivery of GP Clinical IT systems in England. GPSoC has successfully delivered a flexible mechanism for contracting GP clinical IT systems in GP practices since 2007. At present, 75% of GP practices use a system provided through the framework. The GPSoC Framework includes new services for GP practices and patients in addition to the GP Clinical IT systems that all practices currently use, which are referred to as Principal Clinical Systems under the new arrangements. GP practices and patients will now also be able to select Subsidiary Modules from the framework that offer additional functionality and are integrated with Principal Clinical Systems.
