## Summary

The Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA) / Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is seeking bids for the development of a Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (CUAV) capability in response to emerging threats from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This procurement falls under the category of weapons and ammunition, with a total contract value of £400,000. The tender process is currently in the 'active' stage, having been published on 28th September 2018, with a deadline for submissions set for 29th October 2018. The contract is expected to commence on 4th January 2019 and conclude by 3rd January 2022. The procurement method is an open procedure, allowing for a wide range of suppliers to participate.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the defence and security sectors, especially those with expertise in kinetic systems that can neutralise UAVs. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply, as the CNC is open to innovative solutions that align with current UK legislative requirements concerning UAV mitigation. Companies capable of providing effective, non-electronic ways to neutralise UAVs and those with relevant safety protocols are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract.

## Notice

The CNC are developing a Counter-Unmanned-Aerial-Vehicle capability in response to what is considered a fast and evolving threat from UAV. The solution must be a 'kinetic effector' system, that is designed to physically inhibit a UAV, rendering it non-operational. Current UK legislation does not support electronic effector use. There are various safety systems on CNC operational sites which could be inadvertently affected by use of an electronic effector. Please see the Specification for further details
