Identify safety and operational issues and transferable standards from other industries to rail. *Undertaking a risk assessment of a battery powered train in different configurations (battery only or hybrid/ multi-mode) and its system interfaces - including charging solutions - and proposing mitigation actions. *Informing specific design solutions for battery powered trains and charging solutions through a sound understanding of operational considerations and safety risk. *Producing a safety and compatibility assessment methodology and roadmap.
