## Summary

The Home Office, acting through the Neighbourhood Crime Unit, has launched the "Safety of Women at Night (SWAN)" tender, offering up to £5 million in grant funding aimed at improving women's safety in public spaces during the night-time economy across England and Wales. The procurement process is currently in the Tender stage, with submissions accepted via a competitive dialogue method. The tender period ends on 1 September 2021, with funding allocations starting from 2 September 2021, and all allocated funds required to be spent by 31 March 2022. This initiative falls under the community services industry category, specifically targeting civic improvement and community support services.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for various businesses, including local authorities, police and crime commissioners, charities, social enterprises, and cooperatives, to enhance their engagement in community safety initiatives. Businesses that specialise in public safety, community engagement, or innovative solutions for addressing violence against women and girls are particularly well-suited to participate. The funding will support projects that not only aim to reduce incidents of violence but also improve public perceptions of safety, thus opening avenues for service providers focused on social impact and community wellbeing.

## Notice

The Secretary of State for the Home Department (the "Authority"), acting through the Neighbourhood Crime Unit, intends to make an amount up to PS5,000,000 of grant funding available.
