## Summary

The Defra Network eTendering Portal has awarded a contract for the procurement of a bespoke Marine Circulation System, with a contract value of £12,000. The system is intended for housing and breeding marine invertebrate species to expand ecotoxicology testing capabilities. The contract was awarded to Todd Fish Tech Ltd, and it falls under the industry category of Marine equipment. The procurement method used was direct, with a Single tender action (below threshold) approach. The contract period starts on 9th November 2022 and ends on 31st March 2023.

This tender presents an opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in marine equipment to contribute to environmental research and regulatory work. Businesses located in the East of England, particularly in the region of Lowestoft, should consider this tender for potential growth prospects. The innovative design requirements specified in the tender offer room for businesses with expertise in bespoke filter systems and marine tank solutions to demonstrate their capabilities and compete effectively.

## Notice

Cefas require a bespoke Marine Recirculation System for housing and breeding marine invertebrate species. The new system will allow to expand number of species for ecotoxicology testing and capacity for maintaining longer term cultures required for regulatory and R&D work. The system design should contain a bespoke filter with a capacity of static sump volume between 300-500 litres and a variable sump volume between 100-200 litres. The pump should run at quite low speed and be quiet in operation. It is proposed to utilise the existing wet benches to accommodate a number of tanks. The treatment plant shall also have mechanical filtration, bio-filtration and UV treatment to ensure good water quality for the resident livestock. The system will be designed to be flexible so the tanks can be easily arranged or exchanged. Also, future capacity upgrade should be considered
