## Notice

Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award. Please note the contracting authority intends to direct award the contract to Northumbria University and University of Central London. The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal. The aims of the procurement and subsequent training contract are to: a. Deliver academic theoretical content on mental health law. b. Liaise with provider organizations to negotiate the additional experiential opportunity for candidates to garner and complete portfolio evidence. c. Facilitate the provision of mentors in practice for the cohort d. Monitor and supervise candidates progress towards submission of portfolio to the approvals panel. During 2020-21 Northumbria University and University of Central London were identified as having developed an Advanced Practice, Mental Health offer that was aligned to the Multi-Professional Approved/Responsible Clinician, Mental Health Training Course. This specialist P Cert level course combines both academic and practical clinical experience. Since then, the Trusts have continued to develop the programme, giving vital feedback to HEE in order to support the large-scale multiple year procurement which will follow shortly. The suppliers have demonstrated their ability to develop and deliver a multiple region, high impact training programme for trainees. To maintain programme continuity and to upscale delivery through the two HEI provider sites across the seven Regions which have been identified, it is proposed we retain the current providers for the next year in order maintain a high level of service provision. This will enable us to fulfil HEE's mandate and the actions of the NHS Long Term People's Plan by supporting the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patients and public of England. This will be achieved by ensuring we have enough people with the right skills and experience in the right place at the right time and that staff have the time and support they need to care for patients.
