## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by Health Education England, focuses on the development of an "Acute Liaison Role" toolkit and training package. This opportunity is classified under the education and training services sector and is aimed at enhancing national consistency in implementing liaison services, particularly for individuals with learning disabilities and autism, across England. The contract has an estimated value of £150,000 and is guided by an open procurement method. The tender period concludes on 7 September 2022, and the contract is expected to commence on 24 October 2022, lasting until 23 October 2024. The primary delivery address is located in Leeds, England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses within the education and healthcare sectors, particularly those specialising in training services for healthcare professionals. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary or community sector organisations (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, especially those with experience in developing educational tools or providing training in healthcare settings. Collaborative bids are particularly welcomed, allowing for innovative solutions that incorporate best practices and service user involvement, which can ultimately assist in expanding their market reach.

## Notice

The scope of this contract will be to develop a toolkit and a training package which together will ensure that there is a national consistency of approach to the implementation of liaison services across England. This toolkit should also contain evidence of best practice examples showing case studies of the role and the outcomes for people with learning disabilities and their families. Furthermore, we would expect this work to complement the associated tender to commission the 'Green Light Toolkit' Initiative. The toolkit and training package should be linked to the nearly completed work by the Tavistock and Portman National Workforce Skills Development Unit (NWSDU) to create nationally consistent training for nurses and nursing associates working in this area of learning disability and autism. Service users must be involved in the coproduction of all components of this work. Whilst these services are mainly offered within the NHS, we are aware that it is an expanding role that is moving into voluntary and charitable sectors. Therefore we would welcome collaborative bids from NHS HEI and also non NHS colleagues such as voluntary, charitable and CIC colleagues.
