## Summary

The procurement process is led by the CTM Portal for the NDA Shared Services Alliance, who is seeking a contractor to undertake the project titled "Analogue Studies: Use of Derived Learning & Knowledge in the Evolving UK GDF Programme and Safety Case." This project falls under the research and development services industry category and is located within the United Kingdom. The procurement method is a tender, which is now complete, with the award being made to Geologian tutkimuskeskus/Geologiska forskningscentralen/Geologic. The tender period concluded on 10th March 2020, and the contract commenced on 1st April 2020, which will run until 31st March 2022, with a total contract value of £148,436.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in research and development services, particularly those with expertise in radioactive waste management and safety case assessments. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the project aims to enhance the use of analogues in the disposal system safety case. Companies offering consultancy in radioactive waste management, environmental studies, or safety assessments would be particularly well-suited to compete for future tenders stemming from this initiative.

## Notice

RWM will need to produce an appropriate safety case that leverages the UK and international knowledge base on analogues potentially relevant to radioactive waste management and the disposal concepts it is considering. Acknowledging this, objectives of the current project, to foster greater use of analogues in RWM's evolving Disposal System Safety Case (DSSC). Interaction with the work of the international Natural Analogue Working Group (www.natural-analogues.com) is highly likely to be beneficial as part of this project. This forum usefully records the status of natural analogue studies in a range of international organisations, WMOs and otherwise. Where beneficial to the current project, the consultant shall engage with and learn from national and international peer organisations. RWM shall be involved in any such interactions.
