The aim is to award the works to a contractor that can carry out asbestos surveys on an ad-hoc basis, provide a collection service for bagged asbestos containing materials and dispose of them correctly; as well as carry out unlicensed asbestos removal and disposal including Notifiable Non-Licensed Work. The works will need to be carried out within the timescales aligned to the Services provided by Mid Devon. Contractors will need to demonstrate their "competency" within the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 meaning for this type of work. All contractors will be required to adhere to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 as a minimum. Contract Period The Contract shall be awarded for three years, starting on the 1 April 2021 and terminating on the 31 March 2024. The works will be carried out in three phases, starting and completing as follows. Phase 1 Start 1 April 2021 Completion 31 March 2022 Phase 2 Start 1 April 2022 Completion 31 March 2023 Phase 3 Start 1 April 2023 Completion 31 March 2024 Although this is a three year contract, award of each subsequent phase from 1 April 2022 onwards will be subject to the approval by a Director MDDC.
