## Summary

Birmingham City Council is initiating a tender process titled "QU340 - Older people without access to digital technology support for Covid-19 Campaign." This procurement falls under the services category, specifically focusing on community services to support vulnerable older adults in Birmingham, West Midlands. The tender period closes on 15th September 2020, while the contract is expected to commence on 4th October 2020, lasting until 30th April 2021. The council will utilise its e-tendering system, In-tend, for this process, and potential suppliers must register on the platform to submit their bids.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses, particularly those focused on community health services, information dissemination, and outreach to vulnerable groups. Companies that specialise in social services, health communication, or digital literacy support may find this contract's requirements well-aligned with their capabilities. By addressing the needs of older adults who lack digital access, businesses can play a crucial role in enhancing community well-being during the ongoing pandemic, ultimately contributing to their growth and the welfare of the local population.

## Notice

Birmingham is a hugely diverse city. Birmingham City Council recognises that different communities and particularly black and minority ethnic (BAME) communities may have specific concerns or issues resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic coupled with a limited access to the relevant official information and guidance available in community languages. We are keen to support all our local citizens to protect their health using national Government guidance (see https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus ) and maintain their wellbeing during this challenging period. Older adults who use digital technology are able to access support and advice on how to look after themselves and their loved ones. Many vulnerable older adults don't use a smart phone or have access to the internet. This impacts on their ability to receive relevant COVID-19 and Test and Trace information. We are seeking bids for services to ensure Birmingham's older adults who don't access digital technology have access to: o awareness and understanding of COVID-19, o information how to access to testing o knowledge of how to respond if they test positive or told they are a contact of a case, o knowledge of how to reduce risk factors associated with increased risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19. The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. If you wish to express an interest in this opportunity please click on the following link to access https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc/ and submit your details to register. You will then be sent details on how to log on which will enable you to download all relevant quotation documentation. If you are unable to register with In-tend or have any questions or problems on how to use this web site please either email us at: cps@birmingham.gov.uk or call CPS Helpdesk on 0121 464 8000.
