## Summary

The British Film Institute (BFI) has completed the public procurement process for a framework agreement titled "Video Digitisation Services - AWARD," with a focus on motion picture and video tape production and related services. The procurement process, conducted through a restricted procedure, culminated in an award valued at £750,000. This contract spans from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2028, with potential extension of one additional year. The successful tender serves various locations, including the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories, Channel Islands, Europe, Isle of Man, and the Rest of the World, enhancing the BFI National Archive's conservation capabilities. The main procurement category is services, announced by the buyer BFI, based in London. The procurement opportunity was classified under CPV codes 92110000 and 92100000.

This framework agreement presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for SMEs within the video digitisation industry, as the BFI intends to leverage commercial providers to augment its technical capacity. Companies specialised in audio-visual digitisation, post-production, and preservation services will find this tender aligns with their expertise. The project allows businesses to partake in preserving a critical aspect of the UK's film heritage, offering a platform for both visibility and the expansion of technical portfolios. As multiple suppliers can collaborate under this framework, it fosters an ecosystem conducive to innovation and excellence within digital archiving and related fields.

## Notice

The BFI requires several Suppliers to deliver Video Digitisation Services under a Framework Agreement. The British Film Institute is responsible for the accessibility and preservation of a significant share of the UK's film heritage and aims to make it available to audiences through the widest range of platforms and technologies. The film and television collections cared for by the BFI National Archive encompass the entire history of cinema, include educational, broadcast, amateur and other creative content held on a wide range of videotape formats. To help achieve these objectives this framework agreement invites bidders to propose a range of videotape (& audio) digitisation services, along with costs, which can be drawn upon to augment technical capacity within the BFI National Archive's conservation teams. While the BFI maintains considerable expertise and equipment to support and preserve these formats, this Tender seeks a greater range and capacity through commercial provision. Full details of the draft Specification will be available to the Potential Providers in the draft ITT documentation of this requirement. The Framework will be awarded for 3 years initially with an option to extend for an additional one year. Please Note: This requirement will be awarded as a Framework Agreement therefore the BFI does not guarantee any work during the term of the Agreement.
