Companies capable of providing multidisciplinary approaches and partnerships with other health providers may excel in this competitive bidding process. ## Notice The purpose of this Invitation to Tender (ITT) is to provide Bidders with sufficient information to enable them to compile a comprehensive bid that meets the requirements for the procurement for the provision of Adult Specialist Weight Management Services - Tier 3 (including post-surgery follow-up) ("the Service") across the City of Leeds. NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group (the "Contracting Authority") is offering a contract to the successful Bidder to provide Tier 3 weight management services which are are a local pre-requisite in the NHSE eligibility criteria for Tier 4 surgical services and are also integral to tiered management for obesity and weight management services. The overarching aim of the service is to improve physical, emotional, psychological and social functioning for people with severe and complex obesity by the provision of a service designed to promote and sustain weight loss for a period of 12-18 months (this timescale is flexible depending on service model and patient need). It is anticipated that this will be achieved by: - Raising patient's awareness of both the health and wider benefits of weight loss. - Supporting patient activation for behaviour change including meaningful lifestyle changes (for example diet and physical activity levels), goal setting to increase patient self-efficacy and motivation for weight loss, maintenance and relapse prevention. This could be enhanced through working with other services and voluntary organisations. - Working with patients and other providers within the local obesity/weight management pathway (shared decision making) to identify most appropriate treatment options. This will include identifying suitable patients for surgery. Patients deemed suitable for surgery will receive a comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment, including pre-surgery requirements and realistic dietary and weight-loss expectations post-surgery. - Ensuring that those patients who do not meet criteria for a surgical intervention remain motivated to facilitate weight loss within the service. - Providing post-surgery care to patients following bariatric surgery for a minimum of two years. Full details of the Service are provided within the Service Specification (see 'Service Specification Contract and other Relevant Information' within ITT Document 2), providing some helpful supplementary information about the commissioning intentions of the Contracting Authority. The Contract intended to be offered to the successful Bidder at the end of this Procurement will be for a duration of 3 years, which is intended to run from 01/04/2019 until 31/3/2022 with the possibility of up to 2 extensions of a further 1 year each, subject to any restrictions placed nationally by NHS England or the Department of Health. The anticipated, maximum total contract value (including any potential extensions, but excluding a further 5% quality incentive payable on outcomes to be agreed during the mobilisation period) is PS1,900,000 Additional information: ITT documents can be downloaded by Registering an Interest in this opportunity on the NHS Sourcing Portal below.
