## Summary

The University of Nottingham is currently seeking tenders for the project titled "ASTRAL_Helicopter_Upper and Lower wing Structure assembly Jigs_ITT1054." This procurement is part of the aerospace industry, specifically focused on providing tooling for the assembly of wing structures for Airbus Helicopter's RACER concept demonstrator, partially funded by the EU's Clean Sky 2 initiative. The open procurement process is in the Tender stage, with the closing date for submissions set for 10th December 2018. The contract is expected to commence on 4th January 2019 and conclude by 31st July 2019. Interested bidders must express their interest via the University’s e-tendering system located in Nottingham, in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in the production of workshop equipment and tooling design, particularly those with expertise in aerospace manufacturing. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as they may qualify to compete in this procurement. Firms that can demonstrate innovation in assembly tooling and a capacity for precision manufacturing will be well-positioned to secure a contract, potentially expanding their portfolio within the aerospace sector.

CAM is part of a consortium with GE Aviation to design, manufacture and assemble a wing structure for Airbus Helicopter's 'Rapid and Cost Effective Rotorcraft' concept demonstrator, known as RACER. The RACER programme is partially funded by the European Union's 'Clean Sky 2' initiative. The Advanced Wing Structure for Rotorcraft Additional Lift demonstrator (ASTRAL) project requires tooling to securely hold and accurately locate components during assembly of the wings.
