## Summary

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has completed the procurement process for the WEB-RADR project, which focuses on developing mobile applications for reporting side effects of medicines. This contract, valued at £612,000, falls under the custom software development services category and is located in London, UK. The procurement method was selective, with the tender period concluding on 9 August 2017, while the contract period runs from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2019. The project aims to maintain and enhance the platform that has been deployed across various countries, including the UK, Netherlands, and Croatia.

This tender presents significant opportunities for technology firms specialising in software development, particularly those with experience in healthcare applications and mobile solutions. Businesses with the capability to provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements of software platforms, especially in a regulatory context, would be well-suited to compete. With the project seeking broader implementation in additional territories, companies that can demonstrate innovative approaches and scalability in their services will find ample growth potential within this contract.

## Notice

The WEB-RADR Innovative Medicines Initiative project, led by the MHRA has developed and deployed mobile applications for the reporting of side effects to medicines together with associated news and Adverse Drug Reaction data feeds. These apps have been adopted in the UK, Netherlands (NL) and Croatia (HR) and well as Burkina Faso and Zambia through a collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), with several additional countries expressing an interest in adopting the platform. The intention of this process is to appoint a technology provider to maintain and enhance the existing platform to work with the WEB-RADR project and WEB-RADR Management Board (which will be formed on closure of the current project) to establish costs and models for annual maintenance/ enhancements and wider roll out of the application into other territories
