## Summary

The University of Southampton is currently conducting a tender process for the provision of a multichannel potentiostat/galvanostat, which is vital for their research on battery degradation within a major consortium involving several universities. This procurement is classified under the goods category, specifically focusing on spectroscopy devices and related analysis apparatus. The tender is in the planning stage and the submission deadline for offers is 8 February 2018. The project is centred in Southampton, Hampshire, UK, where successful suppliers will contribute to advancing electric vehicle battery technology.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses engaged in the supply of scientific and laboratory equipment, especially those specialising in electrical equipment and apparatus. Companies capable of providing high-quality electrochemical instrumentation and that possess expertise in research applications would be particularly well-suited to compete. The project not only encourages participation from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) but also aligns with strategic goals in the UK’s industrial sector, providing a pathway for growth within sustainable technology markets.

## Notice

The University of Southampton has joined a major consortium to study battery degradation, one of the Fast Start Projects within the Faraday Institution. The project involves several universities (Cambridge, Glasgow, UCL, Imperial, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Southampton and Warwick) and aims to achieve a comprehensive understanding of degradation processes in electric-vehicle batteries, and it will work in collaboration with the other three Faraday Fast Start projects to build the next generation of batteries for electric vehicle applications as part of the UK's industrial strategy. The work at Southampton will take place in Chemistry (Electrochemistry section), at the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences. A multichannel potentiostat/galvanostat will be acquired in order to perform a systematic electrochemical characterization of battery materials, as required for the project described above Additional information: This tender will be conducted electronically and tender documents can be downloaded from the web portal (In-Tend) provided earlier in this notice. https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofsouthampton.
