This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in consultancy services, particularly those specialising in economic research and strategic planning. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be well-suited to compete, benefiting from the chance to contribute to shaping regional economic development initiatives. The insights provided by this project could help businesses align their services with the region's growth objectives, potentially leading to further collaborations and long-term engagements with local authorities and industry partners.

## Notice

The West of England Combined Authority is commissioning a research project aimed at informing our emerging Local Growth Plan, to drive economic growth in the region over both the short term (12-18 months) and long term (up to 10 years) More information is available via the Combined Authorities ATAMIS e-tendering portal https://weca-atamis.my.site.com/s/Welcome The CA will not accept any responses via email or any other means. The research will include two workstreams: 1) Industry consultations to gain insight on growth opportunities in key industry groups. 2) Literature review to inform a future growth strategy for the Somer Valley. The project aims to understand the opportunities in the region, determine areas where the West of England Combined Authority is competitive, and identify opportunities for job creation and economic development. The objective of the project is to inform the development of policies to promote economic growth in the West of England, including in our forthcoming Local Growth Plan, by: * providing a clear understanding of the growth opportunities and barriers facing the West of England's key economic industries and sub-clusters identified below. * providing comparative lessons on appropriate growth strategies that places similar to the Somer Valley have successfully deployed. The project will deliver a written report answering the research questions below. We have provided a suggested methodology, but the Combined Authority is flexible with the methodology and is open to discussing changes with the successful applicant, which should be arranged with the West of England Combined Authority.
