The research will include two workstreams: 1) Industry consultations to gain insight on growth opportunities in key industry groups. 2) Literature review to inform a future growth strategy for the Somer Valley. The project aims to understand the opportunities in the region, determine areas where the West of England Combined Authority is competitive, and identify opportunities for job creation and economic development. The objective of the project is to inform the development of policies to promote economic growth in the West of England, including in our forthcoming Local Growth Plan, by: * providing a clear understanding of the growth opportunities and barriers facing the West of England's key economic industries and sub-clusters identified below. * providing comparative lessons on appropriate growth strategies that places similar to the Somer Valley have successfully deployed. The project will deliver a written report answering the research questions below.
