The project will focus on developing an appropriate methodology for assessing the containment risk and leakage potential from legacy wells. The aim is to demonstrate the applicability of the methodology, the robustness of the screening and to present key findings from a selected subset of wells; this should subsequently enable the methodology to be applied to a wider range of wells in those areas of the UKCS currently identified to have the most potential for carbon storage and later extending to other areas as the OGA's evaluation of potential stores matures.
