This investment is expected to deliver major increases in footfall into this part of the city centre and create new employment opportunities. The Scala will not be a theatre in the traditional sense. It will be an arts centre, a daytime and evening multi-purpose creative space to increase participation in the arts and raise cultural ambition in Worcester. The Scala provides the city with 3 new studio spaces- a screen, a stage and a box studio. It will host independent cinema, diverse performances, workshops, events and classes.
