## Summary

The Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) is currently in the award stage of its procurement process for the contract titled "General and Recycling Waste Across LFRS Sites." This open procedure aims to appoint a service provider responsible for efficient and compliant waste management across LFRS's extensive network of 39 fire stations and additional sites located in Lancashire. The contract period will commence on 1st April 2019 and end on 31st March 2024, with the total contract value estimated at £127,648. The tender process was officially published on 2nd November 2018, and the initial tender period concluded on 7th December 2018.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in waste management services, particularly those that can offer innovative solutions involving new technologies and environmental benefits. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in areas such as collection, reuse, recycling, and disposal of various waste streams would be well-positioned to engage in this competitive process. Companies aiming to provide reliable and cost-effective waste solutions that comply with environmental legislation are particularly suited to participate and potentially grow their business within the regional context of Lancashire.
