## Summary

Sheffield City Council has initiated a procurement process titled "Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC)" aimed at addressing issues of parental conflict that can adversely affect children's outcomes. The project falls within the health and social work services category and is located in England, with the procurement being in the award stage. The tender was published on 29th July 2021, with a tender period that closed on 27th August 2021. The awarded contract, valued at £31,500, is set to begin on 14th September 2021 and will run until 31st March 2022. The open procedure was employed for this procurement, which represents a notable opportunity for specialists in family and relationship support.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses focused on health and social services, particularly those offering relationship support and intervention services. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to consider competing for future procurement opportunities in this area, as the council seeks experienced relationship specialists, especially those who have engaged with families facing similar challenges. Such businesses can play a critical role in enhancing family dynamics and ultimately improving children's well-being, thus potentially leading to business growth and community impact.

## Notice

Through the work of the Early Intervention Foundation there is strong evidence that where conflict between parents - whether together or separated - is frequent, intense and poorly resolved it can harm children's outcomes. Since 2019 Sheffield City Council has been involved in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Reducing Parental Conflict Programme (RPC). The first round of funding developed a scoping exercise to understand the multi-agency needs around working with parents in conflict and training over 300 staff in recognising parental conflict and providing support to families. In addition to this we have worked in partnership with Empowering Parents Empowering Communities to develop and deliver the Being a Parent Together Programme to 57 parents and Triple P to deliver Family Transitions to 31 parents. Sheffield City Council has been awarded PS31,688 and we are seeking relationship specialists to support our progression within this area of work and build on our current achievements. Those who have primarily engaged in the programme have been Intervention Workers or Social Workers who work directly with families.
