## Summary

The Central Management and Co-Ordination Units (CMCU) of Defra are overseeing the procurement process for the PM2.5 Automatic Urban and Rural Air Quality Monitoring Network Expansion project. The contract, with a value of £2,880,000 GBP, aims to establish 104 new monitoring sites between 2024 - 2026, contributing to near-real-time air quality information, policy development, and research support. The tender, classified under air pollution monitoring services, is currently in the 'active' stage, with a tender period closing on 1st February 2024 and a contract period spanning from 29th March 2024 to 30th March 2029.

This opportunity, with its specific focus on air quality monitoring services, is well-suited for businesses interested in environmental technology, data management, and policy consultancy. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate. The open procurement method allows for fair competition, making it accessible to a wide range of businesses interested in contributing to air quality monitoring and atmospheric research. The project's deliverables are crucial for enhancing public understanding of air quality and supporting sustainable planning solutions.
