## Summary

Derby City Council has successfully awarded a contract for the maintenance and repair services of its Highways Fleet, including Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and various items of plant and equipment. The procurement process, carried out as an open procedure above the threshold, was finalised on 16th October 2025, with the award published on 7th November 2025. This contract will run from 10th November 2025 to 9th November 2030 and is valued at £3,165,000. Key industry category under this tender is the 'Repair and Maintenance Services' with CPV code 50000000, and it falls within the procurement stage tagged as 'awardUpdate'.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in vehicle maintenance to collaborate with a local authority, offering avenues for growth within the public sector. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are especially encouraged to compete, given their recognised suitability for the project. Prospective suppliers well-versed in maintenance of HGVs, and organisational flexibility to adjust to potential changes in fleet size and service areas can find this contract lucrative. Furthermore, the anticipated fleet expansion and possible adjustments due to local government reorganisation could result in increased service requirements, offering further business opportunities throughout the contract duration.
