## Summary

The Ministry of Justice has completed the procurement process for Careers Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) services under the title "CIAG - Lot 9". This initiative is part of the broader Prisoner Education Service (PES) programme, aimed at enhancing education, skills, and work opportunities for prisoners across prisons managed by HMPPS in England, excluding four privately managed prisons. The procurement was carried out through an open procedure and divided into eleven regional lots, culminating in an award on 7th December 2024. The awarded contract, valued at GBP 2,713,158, will commence on 1st April 2025 and is set to conclude on 31st March 2029.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for firms specialising in CIAG and rehabilitation services. SME and VCSE enterprises are well-suited to compete, especially those with expertise in delivering education and vocational training within correctional facilities. The new CIAG service is integral to reducing reoffending rates by supporting prisoners from their induction through to their release. With the Ministry of Justice prioritising high-quality, impartial services that prepare prisoners for employment or further education, businesses in this sector can play a crucial role in shaping successful rehabilitation pathways.
