The Council promotes a model of empowerment that supports children to live a in a way that actively considers their needs, diversity and inclusivity. The primary aim of the service is to provide high quality residential short breaks care and where appropriate community-based outreach to children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and complex health care needs who are assessed as needing such a service by Leicestershire County Council, Children and Family Service. The requirement will be broken down into 2 lots: Lot 1 - Children and young people with learning disabilities Lot 2 - Children and young people with complex health care needs Provision should be easily accessible to all areas of the County of Leicestershire and within the boundaries of Leicester City and Leicestershire County Council to enable children and young people to travel to and from their family and their schooling. It is intended that the contract will commence on 1st July 2023 and that it will be in place initially for 3 years (ending 30th June 2026) with the option to extend for a period or periods up to a total of 24 months.
